Dowry (Mehr) was not arranged at the time of the Nikah. Is the Nikah valid?
Answer
Mehr is not a condition for the validity of Nikah according to the Hanafi and Shaafi' Math-habs. While payment of Mehr is compulsory, the Nikah is valid even if it was not mentioned or arranged at the time of Nikah.
