Death and Wills The Majlis Vol 21 No 03, p.5

I have heard that if a person kills someone, he (the killer) will not inherit in his estate even if he is an heir.

Question

I have heard that if a person kills someone, he (the killer) will not inherit in his estate even if he is an heir. Does this rule apply to only intentional killing (murder)?

Answer

It applies regardless of the intention. Even if the killing is a pure, unavoidable accident, then too the one responsible for the death, will not inherit in the deceased's estate even if he is a son or a father of the killed person.
