Is it permissible to place tombstones at the grave? If not permissible, what should I do to the tombstones already placed on the graves of my parents?
Answer
Tombstones are haraam. It is incumbent to have the tombstones demolished. It is a practice of the kuffaar. Anything un-Islamic done at the graveside brings grief to the inmates of the graves although they are not punished for the sins of the people.
