My husband who was a convert to islam, has renounced Islam.

Question

My husband who was a convert to islam, has renounced Islam. He is no longer a Muslim. I am no longer living with him. What is the state of my Nikah?

Answer

Since your 'husband' has renounced Islam, he has become a murtad. The marriage has terminated. You are no longer his wife. You have to be in Iddat which is a period of three haidhs (menses). Thereafter you will be free to marry anyone else.
