A lady pays Zakaat. Three months before the ending of her 12 months, she acquired gold jewellery. Should she pay Zakaat on the gold even though 12 months have not lapsed?
Answer
Yes, she has to pay Zakaat on the gold jewellery as well even if she has owned it for only three months. Since she is the owner of the Nisaab amount, she will have to pay Zakaat on wealth which she acquires even one day before the expiry of her Zakaat year.
