A girl is committing suicide by starving herself because her father had forced her to marry someone whom she did not want to marry. Is the father responsible for her contemplated suicide?
Answer
The sin of the daughter's suicide is on the girl as well as her father who had forced her to marry someone she did not want. A father does not have such a right. It is wrong and not permissible for parents to force their children into unwanted marriages.
