Question
A husband said to his wife: "Tonight is Talaaq night! Call the Maulanas. Tonight I'm giving Talaaq." Are these statements Talaaq? Is the Nikah still valid?
Answer
The statements: "Tonight is talaaq night", "Call the Maulanas", and "Tonight I'm giving talaaq"., are not Talaaq. These statements convey his intention of giving Talaaq. However, they are not Talaaq. Only when he actually gives the Talaaq, will it become valid.
