Does this Hadith refer to the present war against Iran?

Question

Does this Hadith refer to the present war against Iran? Could it be a reference to the flames of the burning oil facilities? "From ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you see a red column in the east in Ramadan, then store food a year, for it is a year of famine." And from ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bakht: It reached me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In Ramadan there will be a sign in the sky like a bright column, and in Shawwāl there will be turmoil, and in Dhū al-Qaʿdah there will be destruction." And from the narration of Khālid ibn Maʿdān: "It will appear as though it is a pillar of fire rising from the east in the month of Ramadan. All the people of the earth will see it. Whoever witnesses that should prepare (store) food for his family for a year."

Answer

The Hadith does not refer to the war in Iran. The Hadith mentions that it will be a glittering pillar of light visible to all people on earth wherever they may be. Furthermore, the Hadith refers to a glittering light IN the sky, not to a fire burning on earth like the clouds of smoke from the burning fuel tanks.

Nevertheless, in view of the current war it is wise to stock up essential foodstuff. If the war continues for a length of time, countries which rely on imported foodstuff will suffer great shortages.
