My husband had an illicit affair and a child has been born. What is the relationship between him and the child according to the Shariah?
Answer
According to the Shariah, a man has no rights over his illegitimate child. He is not recognized as the legal father by Islam. Neither has the child any rights over him nor does he have any rights over the child.
