The doctors decided to remove the ventilator from my father. He was gasping for breath. He subsequently died. What is the ruling of the Shariah regarding removal of the ventilator?
Answer
If at the time of removing the ventilator he was gasping for breath, then it was haraam to remove it. If the removal of the ventilator led to him gasping, then the doctor had committed murder.
