After saying the name "Imaam Mahdiyy", should we say "alaihis salaam" or "radhiyallahu anhu"?

Question

After saying the name "Imaam Mahdiyy", should we say "alaihis salaam" or "radhiyallahu anhu"? My respected Ustaad has said that it is better to say for Him "radhiyallahu anhu" instead of alaihis salaam as it (saying alaihis salaam for Imaam Mahdiyy) is the practice of Shiahs.

Answer

When mentioning Imaam Mahdi, in our urf we say 'Alayhis Salaam'. What your Ustaadh say is his opinion. About opinion we are not dogmatic. His opinion may also be valid. Nevertheless, since it is the tareeqah of all our Akaabir to say 'alayhis salaam', we follow suit.
