(6) Will the Khilaafah of Imaam Mahdiyy be a Khilaafah alaa minhaajin nubuwwah?

Answer

Most certainly, the Khilaafate of Imaam Mahdi (Alayhis salaam) will be alaa minhaajin nubuwwah. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) himself vouched for this when he said that Imaam Mahdi (Alayhis salaam) will fill the earth with justice. Note that Imaam Mahdi's appointment will be unique, quite different from the method in which the Khulafa-e-Raashideen had been appointed. This also confirms that the system of appointment is not a pre-requisite for the validity of Khilaafate.
