I bought a land for building a house in which to stay. If I now change my mind and decide to sell the land, do I have to pay Zakaat on the value of the land?
Answer
Zakaat is not payable. If you change your mind and decide to sell it, then too there is no Zakaat payable on it. You will pay Zakaat on the cash acquired from the sale of the land.
