Question
The husband became a murtad. However, the wife discovered this after a few months. What is the status of the marriage and of the child which was born after him becoming a murtad?
Answer
Although she was living in zina with him, she is not sinful because she was unaware of his irtidaad. If she was pregnant before the husband became murtad, the child will be legitimate. If her pregnancy developed after he became murtad, then the child is illegitimate.
