Are the funds in a provident fund part of the estate of the deceased to be distributed according to the law of inheritance?
Answer
The funds in the provident fund belong to the beneficiaries. These funds are not part of the estate of the deceased, hence are not the subject of inheritance. All the beneficiaries will receive the amounts stipulated in the provident fund.
