Is khula‟ a right which the wife has? Can she demand khula‟?
Answer
Khula‟ is a mutual voluntary agreement between a husband and wife. To obtain Talaaq she pays back the mahr to her husband and he issues Talaaq. But Khula‟ cannot be imposed on any party. It is a voluntary agreement.
