Question
A person has R12,000 cash which is less than the Zakaat Nisaab amount. Can this person accept Zakaat? He leads a comfortable life with his family?
Answer
He may not accept Zakaat even if he does not have the Nisaab. He is not a Faqeer. Zakaat is actually meant for the really poor and people in distress.
