Someone says that even if a woman has hundreds of thousands worth of gold jewellery Hajj will not be obligatory on her since the jewellery is in her use. Is this correct?
Answer
The claim is baseless. Hajj becomes Waajib if the jewellery can cover the Hajj expenses. She has to sell the jewellery. Regardless of the gold jewellery being in use, Zakaat is Waajib on it, and if she has the jewellery during the months of Hajj, then Hajj too is Fardh.
