A woman being in the state of haidh did not perform Tawaaf Ziyaarat.

Question

A woman being in the state of haidh did not perform Tawaaf Ziyaarat. She was unable to delay her departure. She has returned to her home country. What is her status now?

Answer

She will remain in the state of Ihraam as long as she does not return to Makkah to perform Tawaaf Ziyaarat. She will remain in Ihraam for years and her entire lifetime if she does not return to perform Tawaaf Ziyaarat. She will also be haraam for her husband.

If she has had conjugal relations with her husband, then the penalty of a camel/ox will apply for the first time. Thereafter will be the penalty of one Dumm (sheep/goat). The animals have to be slaughtered and distributed in Makkah. But the penalties will not release her from Ihraam. The only way for release is to return to Makkah and perform the Tawaaf.
