Question
If a pregnant woman is unable to fast during Ramadhaan or if a breast-feeding woman abstains from fasting because her milk will dry up, will paying Fidyah suffice? My sister-in-law showed me a hadith which states that Fidyah should be paid. Qadha is not necessary. Is this right?

Your sister-in-law is ignorant. She is not an authority in Hadith or the Shariah. Qadha has to be made for any broken/missed Ramadhaan fast.
