Question
I have zakaat and I was advised by an aalim that in order to give this money to my aged mother who is in need, I should make tamleek by looking for a poor person who is in need of zakaat; have a gentleman's agreement with him that once I give him my zakaat, he will keep a portion for himself and return the balance to me so that I can give to my mother. May I do this?
Answer
The aalim who have advised you is setting you up for Allah's punishment. This fraudulent hoax „tamleek‟ is not permissible. The Zakaat will not be discharged.
