Question
A Sheikh advised a woman to obey her husband even if his demand is haraam in order to save the marriage. Obeying him is the lesser evil. Is this correct?
Answer
Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "There is no obedience to anyone in sin against Allah." The sheikh‟s answer is pure drivel and haraam. The wife should refuse to commit haraam. Commission of sin to please anyone is not permissible. The sheikh appears to be a jaahil.
