A poor Muslim committed murder. Is it permissible to assist him with Zakaat to pay for legal fees?
Answer
If the poor person is remorseful, acknowledges his sin and makes Taubah (repents), then you may give him Zakaat. He can then use the Zakaat as he deems fit.
