If the crowds are excessive and it's difficult to spend the night in Muzdilifah, then women are allowed not to sleep over, they may return to Mina or to their respective accommodations. Men who accompany their women back to Mina or their respective accommodation need to return to Muzdilifah and spend the time in Muzdilifah between Fajr and sunrise, otherwise Dumm will be Waajib upon the men.
