Is it permissible for a wife to take from her husband‟s money without his permission and to squander thousands of rands on her family and friends as do some ladies in my family?
Answer
Most certainly it is haraam for a wife to take any money of her husband without his consent and then give it to her family and friends. Her action is theft if she takes without his permission. She will be severely punished for her stealing and squandering. It is also haraam for her relatives and friends to accept the haraam money from her. A wife may take from her husband's money only what is necessary for the essentials of the house.
