Is the Sunnat I'tikaaf valid in a musalla/jamaat khaanah? In Durban I'tikaaf is observed at the Avondale musalla. Those who organized the I'tikaaf also allocated a block of flats 2 doors away for those who wanted to perform Nafl I'tikaaf. Meals were arranged for all participants.

This was another merrymaking party. It was a mock 'itikaaf'. The Masnoon I'tikaaf is valid in only a Musjid where the five daily Salaat are performed. Even Nafl I'tikaaf is valid in only a Musjid.
