Is it permissible for the stepfather to be the wali for his stepdaughter for marriage purposes?
Answer
It is permissible for the stepfather to act as the Wali if the girl consents. Without her consent, he cannot represent her. Furthermore, if her own father is alive, then the stepfather cannot act as her wali even with her consent.
