Will Zakaat be discharged if people are given vouchers which have to be redeemed at a particular shop? What is the position if someone does not redeem the voucher?
Answer
Yes, Zakaat will be discharged by means of the voucher. However, it is preferable not to stipulate that the purchase has to be made at a certain shop. If any person does not redeem his/ her voucher, the Zakaat for that voucher will not be discharged.
