Question
A person is in debt. He is unable to pay his debts due to sales having dropped drastically. The stock in his shop exceeds his debts. Can I give him Zakaat to pay his debts?
Answer
If the value of the goods in his shop is more than his debts, then you may not give him Zakaat.
