A couple committed fornication, then got married. The child was born five months after the Nikah. Will this child inherit in his father's estate?
Answer
The child will not inherit in the estate of the man who had fathered him illegitimately. However, the man can make a wasiyyat (bequest) for him. The bequest may not exceed more than one third the value of his estate. The child will inherit in her mother's estate.
