The child was born 4 months after Nikah. Will this child inherit in the estate of his father?
Answer
Since the child was born less than six months after the date of Nikah, he/she is illegitimate, hence does not inherit from the biological father. However, the man may make a bequest (wasiyyat) for the child. The amount must not exceed one third the value of his estate.
He inherits in his mother's estate.
