Question
Mostly, Nikah celebrants in Pakistan are Barelvis. The girl does not know their Aqeedah. It's not possible to know the Aqeedah of the celebrant? Can the celebrant perform Nikah? The girl is in Australia. She doesn't have any mahram in Pakistan. In this case, can they still do online Nikah in Pakistan or can the Nikah be done in Australia? The girl has a mahram to be her wakeel in Australia. The boy in Pakistan will appoint his wakeel in Australia. Now can the wording of the Nikah be completed in Australia, and the paper work can be done in Pakistan with the same Barelvi celebrant? Will this Nikah be valid? This is all online Nikah because of Covid situation and the girl cannot travel to Pakistan. Therefore, she needs to do online nikkah. Please advise as soon as possible.
Answer
We are at a loss to understand what exactly you are saying. It is best that your father or the boy or his father consult with some Ulama in Pakistan who will explain the procedure to them.
The matter is quite simple, but you are complicating it unnecessarily by introducing issues which have no relevance in the Shariah.
You say that the boy is in Pakistan and the girl is in Australia. There is no problem in performing the Nikah. The boy should appoint a wakeel for himself in Australia either by email or telephonically. This wakeel will represent the boy at the Nikah ceremony. The Nikah will be valid.
The other way of doing it, is for the girl to appoint her father or any other male relative to represent her in Pakistan. Then with his representation the Nikah can be performed. The online stunt mentioned by you is not valid.
