The boy and the girl are in different cities. Can marriage be conducted over the phone?
Answer
Marriage over the phone is not valid. A simple way is to appoint someone to be the girl's representative. She may instruct someone over the phone to have her Nikah performed to a certain man. Her consent can also be sent by e-mail.
