A friend is heavily in debt. Can I pay his debt with Zakaat?
Answer
You require the consent of the debtor to pay his debt. You have to inform him to appoint you as his wakeel (agent) to pay his debt with Zakaat which you have. Then your Zakaat will be discharged.
