Is the stepfather a mahram for his step-daughter?
Answer
The stepfather is not a valid mahram for his step-daughter. A degree of purdah has to be maintained. They should not be alone. He is not a valid mahram for her on a journey. She should stay at a distance from him. The element of fitnah is ever present.
