Question
Tariq Masood of Pakistan has praised an interfaith 'Salaat'. Deobandis, Barelwis, Qadianis, Shiahs and even a Hindu pundit participated. Please read his speech and comment in the light of the Shariah. Are his comments regarding harmony and co-existence valid?
Answer
The Deen nowadays is the handmaid of political policies and worldly agendas.
Coexistence and living in harmony with non-Muslims do not require compromise of any hukm of the Shariah. But nowadays the molvis are generally the agents of Iblees, hence they compromise the Shariah to bootlick the kuffaar.
While some points in the molvi's speech are valid, the compromise on Shar'i masaa-il is haraam. The Deen should never be subjugated to political policies.
Rigid adherence to the Shariah does not create disharmony. Our best examples are the Sahaabah. Insha-Allah, we shall publish a detailed comment on the ghutha the fellow has disgorged.
