A person openly claims that television is halaal.

Question

A person openly claims that television is halaal. Is it permissible to offer Salaam to him and to respond to his Salaam? Is his claim kufr?

Answer

It is not permissible to respond to the Salaam of the person who openly and flagrantly claims that television is halaal nor is it permissible to make Salaam to him. If he asks the reason, then politely explain that it is not permissible to make Salaam to a person who believes that an evil institution such as television is halaal.

However, such a faasiq has not committed such kufr which expels one from the fold of Islam although he hovers on the brink of kufr. This is because many misguided, evil ulama are misleading the ignorant masses with their baatil fatwa of television's permissibility. These evil ulama who are agents of Iblees, themselves appear on television which is Dajjaal's eye of satanism.
