My daughter was divorced without the marriage having been consummated. Although they were alone, sexual relations did not take place. The husband has divorced her. Does she have to observe Iddat, and does she have to return the Mehr?
Answer
Since your daughter was alone in an enclosed room with her husband, she has to observe Iddat even if conjugal relations did not occur. There is no obligation to return the gifts and the Mehr.
