Exchanging rings on the Nikah day is not an Islamic practice. It is a non-Muslim practice, hence they should not emulate the kuffaar. The husband may give his wife a ring on any day, not on her wedding day. The wife should not give her husband a ring. We are Muslims, and we should not imitate the kuffaar.
