Is it permissible to have a tooth extracted whilst fasting?

If any fluid slips down the throat during the process of tooth extraction, the fast will break. Therefore, it is best not to visit the dentist during fasting. If the tooth is very painful and there is a real need to extract it, then do not make intention to fast during the night. In this case, if the fast breaks, only one day qadha has to be kept.
