Question
Can a body be hosed down instead of the normal ghusl? In Makkah and Madinah the body is hosed down, then buried.
Answer
It is not permissible to treat the mayyit like chattel or an animal. It is most certainly not permissible to abandon the Sunnah method of ghusl and to subject the mayyit to such gross indignity as the spiritually bankrupt and morally barren Saudis perpetrate. It is in fact, haraam to abandon the Sunnah method of the Shariah.
