Question
Some heirs who have inherited shares in a building do not want to sell their shares to other heirs who are occupying the premises. Do they have the right to refuse to sell, and rather ask for a share of the rental?
Answer
The heirs are entitled to retain their shares in the building. They cannot be compelled to sell their shares. It is their right to demand rent from those who are occupying the building.
