REMINDER FOR THOSE MAKING QUR’BAANI
Those making Qur’baani should desist from cutting their nails and removing hair during the days prior to their Qur’baani being executed.
There are some who have misunderstood this issue due to their lackadaisical attitude towards the ahkaam of the Shariah and due to the paucity of their knowledge or their lack of grasp of the Principles of the Shariah, or due to just plain nafsaaniyat. Their disdain for the prohibitions of the Shariah is the effect of their attitude of Istikhfaaf (i.e. to view a Shar’i order/tenet as being insignificant).
To justify their attitude of Istikhfaaf they resort to Fiqhi technicalities without concern for the emphasis exerted on a Hukm by Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Despite our Nabi (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) having emphasised the nail and hair removal mas’alah, they seek to write it off as a non-issue.
