He is an American Imam who gives motivational talks all across the globe. Canada, the UK, Turkey, Malaysia, Qatar. He has millions of social media followers and recently he was declared one of the top 500 most influential Muslims in the world. In the past he's been selected to give prayers in the US Congress, he has given speeches for presidential candidates, and he's even joined hands in prayer with former presidents and war criminals like George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He is president and founder of Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, which is a multi-million dollar online institute that creates essays, infographics, and videos and disseminates that to Muslims all across the globe. Myself and others have extensively criticized Omar Suleiman and Yaqeen Institute for things like promoting liberalism, feminism, LGBT acceptance, promoting things like Darwinian evolution and trying to pass off these things as Islamically acceptable to the Muslim community. Last week I came across pictures and video of Omar Suleiman at a 2018 protest for migrant rights and I was absolutely shocked and disgusted. So I reposted those pictures on my social media and many of you who saw those things were also shocked and disgusted. Here was a prominent imam not only attending but leading a protest surrounded by LGBT supporters wearing rainbow flags. You had one care director, Zahra Billu, getting blessed by a LGBT priestess. You had another care director, Hossam A. Lush, who was taking smiling selfies with these female priestesses wearing rainbow flags. Another prominent imam, Zaid Shakir, was there surrounded by gospel singers and LGBT supporters. In my post I asked, how is any of this acceptable? As is done many times in the past, Omar Suleiman was quick to play innocent, defending and reaffirming his participation and leading of this protest. The usual Omar Suleiman fanboys and yaqeen bots followed suit immediately and started crying that I had exaggerated, that I had misrepresented, and that I was even a liar. One really sensitive person said that I was the absolute scum of the earth, excuse for a human. What I was really surprised about is that Omar Suleiman's more senior friends also jumped in to defend him. Care director Dawood Waleed defended him. Imam Zaid Shakir also wrote a post. Yasser Qadi came out and wrote a post and said whoever criticizes Omar Suleiman is an armchair critic with zero qualifications. Sheikh Abu Isa from the UK also wrote a post calling me out personally, saying that I'm personally obsessed, that I'm causing fitna, that I've lost the plot. I responded to these attacks on my personal integrity by posting even more photos of this protest. I showed one picture of Omar Suleiman on his knees and standing above him these LGBT priestesses. I mean just look at this picture. Those who have been desensitized by the amount of filth that these woke imams put out will say so what, there's nothing wrong here, he's just kneeling. But those of you who still have some ghira for the deen of Allah will recognize the problem. The problem with the optics of a prominent imam on his knees and standing above him are priests and rabbis wearing rainbow scarves singing about love. What does being on your knees represent? Christians get on their knees to pray, but other than that kneeling is a sign of humiliation and lowering yourself. So is it appropriate for an imam to be doing this? Do you know of any other prominent imam or scholar who would get on his knees while Christians and Jewish rabbis stand above him? Allah says in the Qur'an, ﻳَﻌْﻠَﻤُﻮنَ ﻻَ اﻟْﻤُﻨَﺎﻓِﻘِﻴﻦَ وَﻟَﻜِﻦ وَﻟِﻠْﻤُﺆْﻣِﻨِﻴﻦَ وَﻟِﺮَﺳُﻮﻟِﻪِ اﻟْﻌِﺰةُ وَﻟِﻠﻪِ to his messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know this. Is this izzah? Is getting on your knees izzah? But again the fanboys were not convinced. So I had to drop another picture, this time showing Omar Suleiman hand in hand with prayers led by Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and others. I asked Abu Isa and Yasir Qadhi, is this acceptable in Islam? Can you please explain this? To which they didn't respond. They were completely silent. And yet the fanboys still argued that even this was acceptable. At this point I began to wonder, will these fanboys justify anything that their beloved Omar is going to do? No matter how contrary to Islam, no matter how egregious, well inshallah we're about to find out. I also want to say that I have invited Omar Suleiman in the past to talk with me about these issues. And that invitation still stands. If Omar Suleiman wants to come on Muslim Skeptic Live to talk to me publicly about his actions, he's more than welcome to do so. Omar Suleiman has written several essays and given several lectures for Yapin Institute to justify his allyship with LGBT supporters, with feminists, with the most liberal progressive kuffar. He calls this faithful activism, a sunnah framework. Now we could discuss activism and allyship on a theoretical level, but theory can only get us so far. We need to actually see what these protests and what this allyship actually looks like. And what better protest for us to watch than this protest that Omar Suleiman, Yasser Qadi, Abu Isa, and Imam Zayd Shaker just finished defending and praising in the strongest terms. If there's anything that's going to be sunnah activism, then it's got to be this because they just finished praising it. Fortunately for us, there's plenty of public online footage that has been viewed by millions of non-Muslims showing exactly what this protest was about. Let's watch some of this footage so we can see Omar Suleiman's sunnah framework in action. So if you watch footage of this faithful protest, you'll notice that there is a lot of singing There are basically constantly singing these kinds of gospel, spiritual songs. This is the part of the protest where the quote-unquote faith leaders are marching to the beach. Notice that Omar Suleiman is at the front. There are about 300 to 400 people at this protest and Omar Suleiman is at the very front leading along with a couple of LGBT priestesses and female rabbis. A lot of young women singing loudly about love and freedom and liberty and all this kind of liberal stuff. And then you have the Muslims singing with them side by side. Is this the sunnah? Is this a sunnah framework? We shall not, we shall not be moved. We shall not, we shall not be moved. Here you can see Omar Suleiman on his knees surrounded by young women who are singing. Is that the sunnah? Forget about Izzah. Is that even basic Hayyat? And you can see in that same shot the Christians holding their hands out for prayer. We shall not be moved, standing up for justice. Many Muslims might not realize this but Christians pray through singing. This is an act of worship for them and that's why many churches have gospel choirs and they reproduce that kind of gospel music in their protest activities. Brothers, hear our call. We want justice. God loves us all. Why is this brother kneeling next to Omar Suleiman holding out his hands in dua while this woman in a high-pitched feminine voice is singing about love? Is he making dua that Allah extract him from this fitnah? This brother starts singing Tala al-Badr alayna which is completely inappropriate. This is a song that the Ansar sung for the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to welcome him to Medina. I don't want to get technical here but this is clear tashabbuh. These Christians and Jews are singing a song while they're marching so why don't we Muslims also sing a song that has no relevance? Oh no, the LGBT priestess squeezes her way between them locking arms. And another priestess comes from the other side sandwiching Suleiman. Oh okay, good, he pulls himself away. But he abandons the poor brother who is left singing Tala al-Badr alayna and locked arms with the LGBT priestess. Now you might say we can excuse Omar Suleiman because he was clearly extricating himself from this priestess sandwich. But what about the Tala al-Badr guy who is left stuck arm in arm with the LGBT priestess? What about him? What if he really didn't have the knowledge to know that it was wrong? Omar Suleiman ran away but this poor guy is left hanging. Sure we can excuse Omar Suleiman for something he can't control like a priestess grabbing his arm. But can we excuse him for encouraging young Muslims to come to these protests where they will face these haram situations? This is exactly why associations are important. This is exactly why we criticize Omar Suleiman for these egregious affiliations that he has with these so-called Sunni allyships. Regardless of whether your intentions are good or it's for a good cause, if you go into these affiliations, you're going to be drawn into haram things inevitably. You go to a brothel, you go to a bar, you go to these LGBT gatherings, you are going to be pulled into haram things whether you like it or not. At the very least, there's going to be a negative spiritual effect. Which is why the Islamic stance is to completely avoid such gatherings. Not only is Omar not avoiding these gatherings, he is leading them. And he's encouraging other Muslims to go into these gatherings. Young Muslims who won't necessarily know that certain things are haram. And not only is he encouraging them, he is calling this Sunnah activism and he's saying this is something Islamically praiseworthy. His whole dawah is based on this. He is constantly preaching to young Muslims to put themselves in these kinds of situations. Do you want our Muslim sons and daughters to be in these kinds of situations? Do you want our Imams to go to these kinds of environments so that they compromise their moral integrity? I mean, just watch this. Just a Muslim woman holding hands with the rabbi, facing the scary soldiers, and sharing a moment while singing songs about love. I mean, how much fitna is being created here? If that wasn't bad enough, watch this. If you're watching this and you don't feel any ghira, then you don't deserve to be counted amongst the rijal. Where is your rujula? Where is your murua? Where is your ghira for your Muslim sisters? Where is your ghira for the deen of Allah? She's getting sandwiched between the soldier and the Hindu priest. And I don't really put all the blame on this sister. She's just following the lead of Shaykh Omar Suleiman. Shaykh Dr. Omar Suleiman says this is Sunnah, this is a faithful activist framework. And he's right there with her, just a few feet away. Imagine your young son or daughter in such an environment. You might as well just send your kids to the nightclub and get it over with. Honestly, you just might be better sending your kids to the nightclub or the dance club than these kinds of protests. If this protest is sunnah, then the dance club is sunnah too. At least at the nightclub they're not going to have kufr rituals. Which brings me to my next point. So you saw the infamous picture of the hijabi Zahra Billu getting blessed by the priestess. But that wasn't the whole story. Let's go to the beginning of the ceremony. That every crucifixion needs a witness. When Jesus was being crucified, just as the wall of the temple. So they start off with the Bible and likening their protest to the crucifixion of Jesus. A lot of reading from the Bible. Omar Suleiman is just standing there watching. It is in many religious traditions that those people who come forward in the work of justice are consecrated for that task, are anointed and set apart to do the work of love. And in the prophet Isaiah, in chapter 25, it reads, Brothers and sisters, beloved community, indeed a community of love. In a few moments we're going to remember. Remember our brothers and sisters who have died on the migrant trail. In faith we trust that they are being held in the loving eternal arms of God who is love. Okay, here they're reading off names and chanting presente. According to the news coverage of the protest, they're just reading the names of different migrants who had died. And the first name that they read was of a transgender woman, Roxana Hernandez. Then they chant presente, which means present. This is a practice that was used by communist revolutionaries in Latin America to recite the names of their dead soldiers and say presente, meaning you are here with us in spirit. Does Omar Suleiman think that reciting the names of dead transsexuals and invoking their spirits is the sunnah? So I'm going to give instructions about how the anointing will happen. And then people will proceed to walk four by four to the wall. There are folks in yellow vests who will help direct four people at a time. You'll come and get anointed by the bishop and the reverend. And then slowly make your way towards the wall. As you can see, Omar Suleiman is there standing next to them still. He's clearly standing there in front as the oiling commences. So he can never say that he didn't know what it was about or what was going to happen. So you can see she's being anointed with a cross. You also have Hussam Ayloush, the CARE LA director, also getting anointed. This guy gives khutbas all over LA. I wonder if Muslims in LA realize that their khatib not only is engaged in kufr rituals on the weekend, but he's doing it with a smile on his face. You can also see Imam Naeem Baig, former president of IKNA, standing arm in arm with some women. So we see Muslims actively participating. And Omar Suleiman was standing there in front as a leader and validating it with his silence. As the imam who is literally leading and standing in front of these Muslims, he has a duty to stop them from committing an act of kufr. But not only is he silent, not only is he not preventing them, he is standing there silently with the priestesses, with the rabbis, with these kinds of transsexual biblical rituals that are being committed with oil right there in front of him. What does CARE have to say about not one but two of their executive directors engaged in outright shirk? If they are that ignorant of Islam, then how are they leaders for the Council of American Islamic Relations? Has CARE become that much of a joke that they'll let these directors completely off the hook with no consequences? Hopefully by now you've seen exactly how egregious everything is, but I'm sad to say that the worst is yet to come. Do you need media to leave us now? Anybody doing media? What are you? Talaa al-Badru alayna is being sung again, completely inappropriate. Behind the line! Behind the line! Behind the line! Media, out of the line! Before watching the rest, we need to do a little bit of research on the practice of pouring libations. The encyclopedia definition of pouring libations is a ritual pouring of a liquid such as wine, milk, or water as an offering to a deity or spirit. If you search YouTube, you'll find many examples of mushrikeen in Africa and India and many parts of the world where pagans are performing this ritual as an offering to their gods. Out of the line! In the U.S., social justice activists and Black Lives Matter have also appropriated this shirk. If you do not know what libations are in African tradition, they are a pouring of a liquid as a deity to honor, commemorate, and celebrate those who have transitioned, some ancestors far too soon. We begin by calling the name of George Floyd. George Floyd! George Floyd! Out of the line! Harriet Tubman, we honor you. Duncan Burless King, Jr., we honor you. Annie Mae Brown, my grandmother, we honor you. Malcolm X, her former city regulator, we honor you. For George Floyd! Ashe! For Sandra Bland! Ashe! For Breonna Taylor! Ashe! So going back to Omar Suleiman's protest, we see that contained many aspects of shirk and kufr already. And all of this is by design. When we look at the organizers of this particular protest, Love Knows No Borders, in their documentation, they explicitly say that the whole protest is meant to culminate in a blessing or ritual for migrants, either inside a detention center or at the border. So what exactly is this blessing or this ritual that's going to happen at the border? Let's watch. Five steps together. We bring this consecrated water to the border wall. Because water knows no borders. And love knows no borders. And we bring this to greet our brothers and sisters on the other side of that wall. And to say that that wall is a lie. A wall, a lie of separation and hate that we disabuse. And we welcome our migrant brothers and sisters to come and seek asylum with us, to seek our care. We come here to offer you blessings. I have people of faith that will be offering blessings to our brothers and sisters. Yes, please go into Mexico and do it. We don't want any violence. We want no violence, ma'am. Feel free to walk into Mexico and do it. Thank you, ma'am. We come here as vessels of love, reminding one another across our borders that we are one people, one humanity. Here you can see Omar Suleiman is getting into position. And this means that this was all planned in advance. It wasn't something spontaneous, off the top of his head, where he was put on the spot. No, this was coordinated in advance. Militarization of our borders is violence. And the cost of that violence is human lives. We stand here in one of the most beautiful places on this earth to listen to the sound of God. To listen to the sound of our creator singing in our hearts of the fullness of our humanity that tells us to greet one another with love, and not with violence, with compassion, and not — Love knows no borders. We consecrate this work today. Thank you, ma'am. Please deny the number. We refuse to accept that people stand behind bars, remain in cages, remain separated from their human family. We refuse to accept that this is normal. We refuse that the only part of America that our brothers and sisters see on the other side of that fence are people with guns. Instead, we call out to them with love that you have a right to seek peace. You have a right to seek asylum. You have a right to not be tear-gassed. You have a right to be honored and dignified. Yes! SubhanAllah, I'm having trouble expressing my anger and disgust at this. I mean, a prominent imam participating in a pagan ritual, it just boggles my mind that any Muslim would take their deen from someone like this. And let's not forget that this happened in front of hundreds of people. And this was the main deal. This was the main show to bless the migrants. To bless the migrants. This ritual was the whole purpose, the culmination of this sunnah protest. And there is an imam supposedly representing Muslims who is there at front engaging in outright kufr. After I made my initial post with the pictures, Omar Suleiman actually responded and he included a comment on his page where he says, I did not participate in any anointing ritual. As Muslims, it's not permissible to worship in the rituals of other religions. Is this not deception? Is this not playing with words? I didn't participate in any anointing ritual. I did participate in a water ritual though. And make sure you remember this comment. Just in case once this video comes out, Omar Suleiman tries to justify his participation in the water ritual. Because if participating in the water ritual is okay, why wouldn't it be okay to participate in the oil anointing ritual? But he doesn't defend the oil ritual. And he says participating in rituals like this is haram. And he's also understating that it's not permissible to worship in the rituals of other religions. Not only is it impermissible, it is actually kufr. Now if a jahil wants to come and argue that this is not kufr because we don't know the intentions of Omar and what's in his heart, I'll say this.
