A SHOCKING AND CRUEL EXPOSURE OF THE HUMAN DEVILS

BY A SISTER FROM LENASIA

While the exposure of evil and villainy pertains in the first instance to the “new nnb jamiat on Rose Avenue”, it is equally directed to all NNB jamiat cliques and to all these modernists, zindeeq Zakaat-collecting outfits staffed by immoral mercenaries. We reproduce the Sister’s valid complaint verbatim.

THE SISTER’S LAMENT

ASSALAAMUALAYKUM

I hope that Hazrat is well.

I recently hired a Malawian lady as a domestic helper. Soon after, she discovered that she was pregnant. Her husband is unwell and unable to work. Her three children are back home in Malawi. Aged 14 (girl), 8 and 4. She is the sole breadwinner in the family.

I realise that in her condition, it is not appropriate for her to work as a domestic. I cannot simply dismiss her. Nor will anyone else hire her. She is therefore forcing herself to continue working for me, due to financial desperation. I therefore suggested to her, that as she is obviously a deserving case, that I will put forth a request for financial assistance to a well – known Muslim organization in Lenasia. Her joy and relief was clear.

I e mailed the organization. I received a response to go to their Lenasia office. I didn’t go personally, but wrote down all required details on a page, as well as a written explanation of her condition and sent her with the details to their offices. (Between us only – it was the new jamiat on Rose avenue).

There was a heat wave in Lenasia. Due to desperation, this woman was prepared to walk from my house, while pregnant, in the scorching heat to their offices. When she got back, she looked very despondent.

I asked her about the meeting. She tried to brush it off, but clearly it was a very offensive, disheartening experience. Among the things she tried to make light of was (which I found disgusting):

  • The person who she spoke to arrogantly / mockingly asked her “what she needed/ wanted from them? (Is this his father’s money, that he is handing out?)
  • He asked her for a copy of the scan. As proof of her pregnancy (Is he getting paid to shamelessly check scans of woman’s wombs?)
  • I was more shocked when he sent me a form to fill in – with the exact same details which I had written down and sent to him. His level of laziness and incompetency astonished me. Was he only getting paid to say “Yes” or “no” when people request help? Is filling in a simple form too cumbersome for him? Is it out of his scope of work or beyond his ability? Or is he plain lazy and collecting a wage for nothing? Only getting paid to humiliate and harass women who approach their organization for aid?
  • He was interrogating her as to why she is seeking financial help after working only 2 months? (Is it his business why Allah Ta aala willed her to become pregnant after working for me for 2 months. This was obviously not what she had planned and not in her control)

Nevertheless, I filled in the form. I could see from her body language that she was very hesitant to return to their offices and hand in that form. But again, in the scorching heat, she walked a second time from my house to their offices to the return the form. This what desperately poor women with families to support are willing to endure.

With her I sent another note, stating that the hospital will not give her the scan, as the file stays with them and secondly it was haraam for that man to want to see a ghair mahram woman’s scan of her womb. On reaching there, she handed the forms and my note to another two men. Then the man who had asked for the scan came in. They showed him my note. In front of his colleagues, he repeatedly and brazenly lied to her face and denied ever telling her to bring the scan to prove her pregnancy. Please note that I put a claim for R 4500. (R 3300 is her wage and R 1000 is the food allowance I provide), I requested that they only assist her till her baby is 4 – 5 months old. Thereafter she can return to work for me. Perhaps about a year. I expected them to at least agree to half that amount.

She came home so broken, telling me that they said they will see where they can help her. Maybe they will give her a hamper. They will phone me regarding their decision. (How is giving her a hamper in South Africa going to sustain her 3 children in Malawi?)

Someone phoned me the next afternoon. I was infuriated to hear that after humiliating her, they will only give her a miserable hamper. Unable to contain myself, I asked what was the reasoning behind denying her financial assistance. On what basis was financial assistance denied? The reply I got was “This is what the committee decided.” I asked for the committee members e mail, to enable me to take the matter up with them. I was told they “cannot give me that information.” (It seems like the committee members are above accountability.) I asked if at the end of the month, they all take home wages for their own families to live on or hampers..? The person couldn’t answer. He tried explaining that “asking women for scans of their wombs (ie disgracing and humiliating women) was not their usual policy”. I then ended the call, with the warning that I will take up this matter. They realized I wasn’t joking, so then began to persistently dial my number. I didn’t take the calls. There was no need for me to entertain their rubbish any further. It was a simple and valid request I had put forth. There was no need to disgrace the person asking. There was no need for further communication after I had provided them with all the details in writing.

It is of great concern that:

  • An overwhelming number of people in the community complain that the organisations are no longer providing financial assistance eg rent money, but instead they only give measly hampers.
  • An overwhelming number of deserving Muslim women (widows, divorcees, single mothers, elderly women) complain of the humiliation they are put through when approaching Muslim organisations. The complaints range from sexual harassment, to the asking of “favours” in exchange for aid, mockery and uncalled for insults disguised as jokes, offers to become second wives and side chicks to married men in those offices, aid provided to women on the basis of their looks etc etc etc All these are no longer secrets; occurring in “Muslim” run organisations countrywide. The stories on social media and in the community are too numerous to ignore or pass off as just ‘malicious rumours.’

I requested a meagre amount of R 4500 per month for this lady. Attached Hazrat will find a screenshot which was circulated on WhatsApp groups SEVERAL YEARS BACK. This is what senior members of this organization were already earning, way back in 2020. (Or rather this was when someone forwarded me the message.)

Whose approval do they take, that allows them to draw such fantastic salaries?

What work do they actually do which entitles them to earn such huge salaries? (Considering that the fellow mentioned above was too lazy to even fill out a form.)

Do they need to fill in any forms, disclosing their zakaatable assets, their wives and children’s earnings, their other avenues of income, before they draw their enormous salaries?

Are their wives and daughters dragged through humiliating interviews, before they receive these big fat salaries?

Which committee approve their salaries? What protocols do they have to follow, when collecting these extravagant amounts as their monthly salary?

Why do they behave as if it their father’s money they are handing out? They are rude, arrogant and insulting towards those who approach the organisations for help.

Why do they not survive on hampers, as they expect needy members of the community to? Why the need for them to take home money as wages at the end of each month? Surely, if they expect other Muslims to pay medical, clothing, school, Madressah, transport, daily bread and milk and other bills using their miserable hampers, they too can do the same.

I sincerely believe in what Islam teaches: That no Muslim woman should go out to work. It is the compulsory duty of “Islamic / Muslim” organisations to ensure that they provide for ALL deserving women’s needs. If they can take salaries of UP TO R 80 000 PER MONTH, surely this can be reduced, to enable these organisations to provide every deserving woman with a basic monthly stipend of R 10 000 PLUS a further R1000 per child. No questions asked. Why do they keep asking if deserving people are zakaatable? When their organisations receive huge amounts in Sadaqa and Lillah, as well as interest accrued on all the millions in the banks. What is this money being utilized for, if not to uplift the poor and women?

A serious question now crosses my mind. Since the Masjid closing saga, and the going to court with lesbians saga, the public has become way more wary and alert regarding who they contribute funds to. This means funds coming into these organisations has drastically decreased. Are they now giving out “only hampers” to deserving Muslims, in order to allow them to continue drawing such huge amounts as their salaries?

They went to court with the lesbians, apparently to further ‘improve the rights of Muslim women in South Africa.” Why then, when it comes to giving deserving women money, are they unwilling to “improve the plight of Muslim women in South Africa?’

Another question is that the behaviour that women are exposed to when approaching the organisations is common knowledge. Has anyone ever been investigated for misconduct? Have legal steps ever been taken against anyone? Or is it all swept under the carpet to save face and the reputation of the organisation? Why are allegations of incompetency dismissed or made light of?

Furthermore, the quality of the items in hampers are often of very poor quality. The cheapest brands of rice, sugar, oil, teabags, unbranded tin foods and occasionally a chicken or some bony meat thrown in. The people working in the organisations would never use these inferior quality groceries in their own homes. It is surprising that they the community donates money for the poor to benefit, yet the poor are then given inferior grade of food items, while those in charge get fantastic wages, drawn from public donations, which enables them to buy the best quality food items for their own families.

Some of the people in managerial positions – the top dogs (pun intended) – have held their positions (or similar posts) earning big bucks from the 1990’s. Like the ANC. Hopeless, corrupt and not willing to change management. Elections are possibly held…? then they re–elect themselves and each other. How does this handful of people clinging to power and unlimited access to public money for decades, allow for growth and accountability? Are their posts sultanates, or dictatorships or what? How are a few members entitled to hold managerial posts held for life? Is this Islamic? The public is well aware of the bullying, threats and intimidation that occurs in the offices of these organisations. They silence anyone who tries to challenge them or advocate for change. Like the ANC they are so drowned in their own wealth, luxury and power, that they are unable to understand the realities on the ground. They are far removed from the challenges faced by the community.

An independent branch, a liaison office needs to be opened up, run exclusively by women. It can be done from a private home. Where women are interviewed only by women. Information gathered. And the information then e mailed to these organisations to be processed. They mustn’t sit in those offices and be lazy to fill in forms, they must work like the rest of us. In this way, there will be no need for men to be screening, laughing, joking, harassing and proposing marriage to every woman who enters their offices. Communication only needs to take place via email.

WAS SALAAM

(End of the Sister’s letter)

The Sister has appropriately stated the reality of the vile shenanigans of these reverend and pundit molvis, and has adequately commented. While we have been criticizing these devilish molvi and zindeeq outfits on a regular basis, we did not realize that the ROT is as terrible as the Sister has described.

It is necessary to also understand that the community at large is responsible for this sorry and vile state of affairs regarding these miserable mercenary entities whose objective is to line their pockets with Zakaat and Lillah funds which they usurp, steal and loot in the same style as do government officials. The community as a whole is culpable and liable for the issues exposed by the Sister because they contribute their funds recklessly to scoundrels whose villainy is conspicuous in their daily lives and attitudes.

IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE TO CONTRIBUTE ANY FUNDS TO THESE RASCAL AND SCOUNDREL ENTITIES.
