5 August 2017 articles Madrasah Arabia Islamia Comedian - Marriage Conference - Sandton It has come to our notice that a certain "muslim" comedian, whilst addressing an audience at a recent Sandton based conference, made utterly disparaging and mocking remarks with regard to some of the Noble Sahabah (radhiallahu anhum) of Rasulullah The Sahabah radiallahu anhum are those August personalities with regard to whom our beloved Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam had said to this effect that, "Do not hurl abuse at my Sahabah." (Mishkat, pg553) and he has also said" He who causes hurt to them has caused hurt to me and he who causes hurt to me has caused hurt to Allah-i.e. he has angered Allah Ta'aala - and he who causes hurt to Allah, He will shortly take him to task." (Mishkaat Pg.554). Yet in Another Hadeeth, Rasulullah sallahu alahi wasllam, speaking about their status says, " Honour my Sahabah, for they are the best amongst you," (ibid) their elevated status is such that we cannot compare ourselves to the dust of their feet. It is the duty of every Ummati to distance and disassociate himself from such abusive utterances and condemn them in highly emphatic terms. We would hence like to express our utter disgust at this fiasco that took place in the name of satire and entertainment!
