Question
Is it permissible to use Botox as a remedy?
Answer
Botox is derived from the blood serum of horses which are injected with botulinium bacteria. In other words, disease is injected into the horses. From such diseased horses is extracted the blood-serum from which Botox is manufactured. Botox is also derived from humans. It is therefore, not permissible to use Botox. However, if no halaal remedy is available for the disease of Botulism which is potentially fatal, then such Botox derived from horses may be used, not the Botox acquired from humans.
