Question
In the notes of the kitaab, As-Siraaji it is mentioned that Imaam Maalik (rahmatullah alayh) was in the womb of his mother for two or three years. Please comment.
Answer
The text in the notes in As-Siraajee does not state that Imaam Maalik (rahmatullah alayh) was in the womb of his mother for 2 to 3 years.
No where in this Kitaab is this mentioned. What is mentioned is that according to the three Math-habs (Maaliki, Shaafi' and Hambali), the maximum period of gestation is four years. The maximum period according to the Hanafi Math-hab is two years.
