Are the books, F ataawa Rahimiyyah and Heavenly Ornaments by Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi reliable?

Answer

Fataawa Rahimiyyah is a reliable book. The author of Fataawa Rahimiyyah was an uprighteous Aalim of the Haqq. However, there are about two or three issues in the book with which we differ. One is the Mufti's view on copyright. According to him it is permissible to register copyright. The other is his view on shrimps which he says are permissible. Both these views are erroneous. Besides these two errors, the book is very beneficial.

The book, Heavenly Ornaments is highly placed and extremely helpful for the laymen although the translations are generally poor.
