Is it incumbent for a traveller passing through a city to perform Jumuah Salaat?

Question

Is it incumbent for a traveller passing through a city to perform Jumuah Salaat?

Answer

If a musaafir (traveller) happens to be near to a Musjid where Jumuah is being performed, and he is not in a hurry, or he has chosen to remain in the city, then it is incumbent that he performs Jumuah Salaat. If he abstains, he sins. But his Qasr will be valid.
